MieleRepair Miami

Symptom

Miele dishwasher will not fill

The machine starts, waits and stops. Miele publishes several separate conditions for this and they point at four things, three of which are outside the appliance and free to check.

  • From $95 diagnostic, credited to the repair
  • 59 cities and neighborhoods covered
  • OEM parts available on order
  • In writing the price, before anything is opened

Four ordinary causes

What this usually turns out to be

Cheapest and commonest first, which is also the order we check them in. They sit hundreds of dollars apart, and only the unit settles which one is yours.

How it shows up

What people describe when they call

  • “A cycle that stops early with dry dishes”
  • “A number naming the water inlet”
  • “Water arriving very slowly”
A technician standing at a tall cabinet column of built-in appliances, tool roll open on a folded mat at his feet

Two shortcuts

Narrow it down before anybody arrives

A description of the behaviour leaves a few possible causes. A code names the subsystem, and the model number says which parts to bring. Either one shortens the visit; both together usually settle it.

In more detail

About Miele dishwasher will not fill

The fastest diagnosis is the code

Open the tap fully, then check the inlet filter where the hose screws onto it — with the machine unplugged and the tap closed, because that plastic housing contains an electrical valve. In this water that filter is the single most common cause and almost nobody has ever cleaned it.

Four causes, three of them outside the machine

The manufacturer lists them in order and so do we: the tap, the inlet filter at the screw connection, a kinked hose, and flow pressure below the 7.25 psi minimum. Only the fourth is plumbing you cannot see, and only after all four does this become a valve.

Why the inlet filter matters more here

The interval this machine assumes for that filter was written for softer water than Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach supply. It loads earlier, and because it sits at the tap rather than inside the appliance, almost nobody has ever looked at it.
