Symptom
Miele dryer will not dry
The commonest complaint on a heat-pump dryer and the one most often solved without a part. This machine has no heating element — it moves heat around a sealed loop — and everything about that depends on air moving freely.

Cheapest and commonest first, which is also the order we check them in. They sit hundreds of dollars apart, and only the unit settles which one is yours.

They end the cycle. Coated with softener residue they read the load as dry.

How it shows up
What people describe when they call
Two shortcuts
Narrow it down before anybody arrives
A description of the behaviour leaves a few possible causes. A code names the subsystem, and the model number says which parts to bring. Either one shortens the visit; both together usually settle it.

About Miele dryer will not dry
The fastest diagnosis is the code
Clean both filters — there are two, and people find the first and never the second — and the condenser block behind the lower panel. In this humidity they load far faster than the manual's interval, and a machine that has never had its condenser cleaned will dry badly for a long time before it ever complains.
There is no element to blame
Every dryer Miele sells here is a heat pump: it moves heat around a sealed loop instead of making it. That removes the parts a conventional dryer fails on and puts everything on air moving freely — through two filters and through a condenser block behind the lower panel.
Why this happens faster in South Florida
A ventless dryer takes its air from the room. In a closed laundry closet in August that air is already close to saturated, so the machine works harder, the lint it collects is damp, and damp lint packs into the condenser instead of lifting off. The manufacturer names the filters and the plinth filter as the cause of one of its own conditions.
